Art Salon Chinatown is a gallery space located in Los Angeles Chinatown’s historic Central Plaza with the primary focus of showcasing contemporary Asian American artists. It's latest exhibition is called CURE.

Over the past year and a half, curator Sonia Mak, like many of us, engaged in a journey of loss and renewal which is reflected in the current CURE exhibition. CURE reflects on the pain and struggle so many of us have endured since the pandemic began, especially in BIPOC communities and because of the marked rise in anti-API hate incidents. Part of the curative process involves embracing possibility and opportunity to chart more viable futures.

️On Sunday, October 23 at 2 pm, TAP-LA, OCA-GLA, and Art Salon Chinatown presents CURE: ART PRACTICE AS PORTALS OF COMMUNICAL HEALING. Curator Sonia Mak, and artists Yumi Sakugawa, Raina Lee, and others will engage and lead a lively discussion about their inspiration, their ideas, and touch on topics that generate from their explanations/ideas. Panel followed by Q & A and a closing guided meditation led by Yumi Sakugawa. Participants may wish to bring a cushion to sit on. Event is FREE for members and nonmembers!
