The Taiwanese American Film Festival celebrates the achievements of new, up and coming Taiwanese American and Taiwanese international cinema artists.

Established in 2017 by Taiwanese American Professionals of Los Angeles — a chapter of the nation’s largest network of young Taiwanese American professionals — The Taiwanese American Film Festival will serves as the nation’s only showcase for film and media works by Taiwanese American and Taiwanese international cinema artists.

A one-day event will be held in November 16, 2019 at the 220-seat Downtown Independent Theater. The Film Festival will present short films and media works by Taiwanese and Taiwanese American makers and this year center around a pitch competition with a grand prize of $5,000. The Festival’s highlights will include the pitch competition, a shorts-block, an Awards Ceremony and Closing Celebration, and a variety of food and drink vendors plus art and music attractions.

The Festival’s ultimate goal is to create a platform for a growing cinema community and to help emerging filmmakers in their next cinematic venture.
